Let me watch by the fire and remember my days
...and it may be a trick of the firelight
But the flickering pages that trouble my sight
is a book I'm afraid to write..
G u p t a M u h a m m a d H a s s a n
strength in silence
It's the book of my days, it's the book of my life;
and it's cut like a fruit on the blade of a knife
And it's all there to see as the section reveals
...there's some sorrow in every life...
Egypt is an enigmatic and stubborn individual.
He cannot be observed speaking by many, though he will do so when necessary. If you are a waste of his time, he will say nothing to you because you would not hear him anyway. This is more often than not the case, as there was a spell he had placed on himself many years ago. He has very little trust in European nations, though Greece is a notable exception. While he'll often just stare at you with no comment, Gupta is actually very educated. Whether or not this was his own choice is to be decided, but regardless he is fluent in several languages and likely knows just as much of your country as you do, if not more. He is also quite opinionated. He doesn’t generally care what you think--of him, of yourself, of the world. He has his way and you have yours; respect that and he’ll probably return the favor. That said, he does give consideration to those he deems an ally. Once you have that place with him, it is very difficult to lose it as he is slow to make friends but even slower in parting with them (also read as: he is very clingy). Due to growing apart but being so close to his mother “Ancient Egypt” as well as the distinct mark Islam has left on his heart, Gupta is family-minded. He comes off as stoic and distant, but in the center he is incredibly maternal with children and relatives. Egypt is a major Arabic military power. He is enamored with certain effeminate practices such as makeup and jewelry, but only because these make him feel close to his mother. He is a Mama's boy and nothing less, despite the fact that he never knew her personally. This makes him much more sensitive than he would be otherwise but do not cross him, because he will strike with a vengeance. It may not be immediately after your blow is dealt, but you can be assured that it will happen---he will know you before retaliating so watch your step and don't take his peninsulas.
Gupta revels in stories of the old world, but the Qur’an is a book he holds closest to his heart. He isn’t deeply religious by practice but admires those who are. In retrospect he does his best to be an example of the sterner virtues such as patience and honesty. He won’t sugar-coat things and sometimes he may trample on your insecurities but if he does so, he means well. Otherwise he wouldn't spend his time on you.
On one last note, he is fairly good at reading people and in the same breath business-minded with need for tourists.
Would you like to buy a pot? Good family heirloom, hand-crafted and durable. Great for grandmas.
You know you could buy artifacts rather than stealing them you thieving Europeans.

rper does not know Egyptian Arabic, but will do my best to be accurate with common phrases. Also, keep in mind that while I will try to entertain you, a core part of Egypt's persona is how little he speaks. It's just a thing his sexy will have to compensate for, ffff.
Smut in notes...but you better take him to dinner first. or let him take you~ So far I think he could go with anyone but America or Denmark, though my headcanon Egypt persona is partial to Seychelle, Libya, Turkey and Vietnam.]
